HEY YALL
On day 2 we actually woke up early enough at around 8+am for breakfast lol but its our first and last breakfast at the hotel because we were up too late at night for the rest of the trip!
Forgot to bring my belt with me zz you can tell how loose the highwaists are,its damn weird.
Our first stop was to Jiu fen! Its actually quite far from taipei's city so you cant take a normal mrt to get there. I knew that i'll have to take 3 different forms of transport just to get there and take the risk of getting lost so i was considering whether its worth it but YEAP ITS WORTH IT.
Jiu fen is a place with a pretty scenic view, many souvenir shops and they sell very very unique taiwan snacks. I dont think i've seen these snacks sold in their night markets. Its also one of the only places you can visit in the morning during your taipei trip with the exception of museums. For the rest of the trip it was just afternoon and night plans throughout!
Even though its pretty crowded on weekends (we went on a sunday morning), it's still quite acceptable i guess. I mean like,on a sunday if you visit anywhere else it'll be crowded too right lame.
DIRECTIONS:
Our hotel was at Jiantan station and we had to take a train to Taipei Main Station which is 9 minutes away and it only costs NT$20 (approx SGD $0.90). After that, you have to go to the TRA ticketing area and queue up to buy a train ticket to RuiFang from the counter. But please remember that its the TRA ticketing counter omg. They have like 3 different trains at Taipei Main Station like what, HSA or whatever we got so confused and ended up queuing for the wrong counters, what a waste of time.
The train ticket to RuiFang only cost NT$59 (approx $2.50 SGD) which is damn cheap in my opinion. The train ride there is 50 minutes and you can eat on board so you should definitely buy food before you get on the train! There are many many shops around Taipei Main Station selling snacks but at a really expensive price lol. I saw this huge bun around the size of my face but its like $10 SGD i think wtf. Its just a bun leh.
Making a wild guess, i think its because people from all around Taiwan arrive at Taipei Main Station when they visit Taipei so the things sold here are more expensive? Its just like how the airport has expensive dining instead of pasamalam food lor.

Probably the only thing that was selling at a reasonable price would be the milk tea! I think that was my 4th or 5th cup of milk tea during the trip even though it was just the second day LOL.
It only cost around NT$40 (approx SGD $1.80) but it wasn't that nice :/ i was actually disappointed quite a number of times drinking milk tea in taipei :( I'm really sad lol.

DIRECTIONS:
From RuiFang station, you can actually take a bus to jiufen. But we were pretty lazy and there was a taxi stand just next to the bus stop so we took a cab instead. Its actually stated at the taxi stand that the ride to JiuFen would cost NT$180 (approx SGD $7), its damn reasonable cause JiuFen is around 10minutes away from RuiFang station!
Taipei's common sight: dogs everywhere even in retail shops and restaurants!
This is one of the "must try" desserts when you go to jiufen. I havent seen it anywhere else in taipei actually. There are quite a few shops selling this so i guess it doesn't matter if you give the first shop a miss!
Its the chewy bowl with taro balls etc. but honestly i'm not really a fan of this! They will give you a huge serving of it for only around SGD $2 but i could only finish like 1/5th of it :( I got tired of chewing anyway LOL.
Ice cream in taipei sucks leh they can look so good and cost so cheap but taste so bad LOL.
The chocolate ice cream has a very fake taste to it omg. I don't think i'll have another ice cream when i go to taipei.
Quite crowded but still able to walk at a normal pace!
I think these make great gifts for your friends cause they are mostly motivational quotes that are suitable for people with different characters. So you can definitely find a different one for every friend! Weichyi spent like 30 minutes just looking for around 7 of these LOL.
actually he was done choosing like 6 of them but the last one was for me and he took around 10minutes just looking for mine. I dont even know why he took so long shouldnt he know me besttttttt? :/
Damn cute cartoon lollipops! I regret not buying more of them :(
He asked me after taking this picture "why is it so far" and then he asked me to come nearer HAHAHA wtf he's such a noob leh omg.but i taught him how to zoom and all. Its like giving him an impromptu photography lesson. He needs a "Photography for idiots" book lol.
But honestly speaking he has quite a talent for photography leh like, he's a natural. There are really many people who are bad at photography just look at many of my fail prom photos with my friends taken by others HAHAHA shit i'm damn mean but some people just dont know anything about taking photos with nice angles, photo proportions which is very important.
Somehow weichyi just knows it lor. I started to notice it after he took many photos of me at yu ren ma tou. Will blog about it tomorrow haha.
I'm sorry but these look really unappetizing HAHA they actually just displayed them right in front of the shop and it smells so damn bad leh.
Finally had our chewy taro balls after walking pass a few of these shops!
Both of us are not a fan even though it tastes quite nice so we could only finish half a bowl :( This huge serving only cost around NT$50 (approx $2SGD)
Bought this weird bird's nest that attracts BEES.
LIKE SERIOUSLY the whole shop was invaded with bees and the woman tending the shop seemed so calm and all i was dying just standing close to the shop and asking her for the price/how to keep the bird's nest/how to make the bird's nest wtf. Weichyi was just standing further away from the shop and making me do the job in asking these questions @!*&@^!
I was having goosebumps even after i walked away from the shop. When i passed her the money i felt like i was dying ok the bees WTF THE BEES. JUST LOOK AT THEM IN THE PIC.
Pretty view because jiufen is on a mountain!
He's helping me carry almost everything and refused to pass anything to me omg why.
At the end of the whole of jiufen's shops there are many cafes selling coffee and other snacks!
These shops all have damn fucking nice ambiance and like woah i was telling weichyi i'll come here to have my study sessions if i was still in IB LOL.
View from the cafe!
They had a $12 SGD coffee and we also got a $2 SGD coffee but honestly we couldnt tell the difference HAHAHA.such a failure. Cannot.appreciate.coffee.properly.
Got this gun lighter for weichyi lol its damn cute right wtf
We had pizza at the cafe and it was quite good!
Cute doggies everywhere!
Weird shop owners.........new tactic to attract customers? HAHA
Ah i fucking love this shot
If you watch naruto you'll know why i got that frog coin purse hehe. Its actually the same one that naruto is using! ITS DAMN CUTE RIGHT OMG.
6 tako balls for only NT$50 (approx $2SGD) with wasabi, seaweed and original flavour!
Headed back to the huo che station at ruifang to go for our evening plans!
We headed back to Taipei Main Station at around 5pm for our evening plans! We headed back to the hotel at Jiantan station to leave our heavy loots there and if you read my previous blog post, you'll know that i chose a hotel 10minutes away from shilin night market!
YES SHILIN NIGHT MARKET @*#&@*#^
YES SHILIN NIGHT MARKET @*#&@*#^
DIRECTIONS:If you want to get to shilin night market its 9minutes away from taipei main station. Just alight at Jiantan station and its towards the right! Its damn obvious cause you can see many shops and a whole crowd there. Other than that jiantan is just really quiet.
Crazily huge sausages at NT 100 (approx $4 SGD)
Games stalls!
Cheese chicken cutlet
The clothes sold at shilin night market are actually quite cheap. The skirts you see on the left only cost NT $150 (SGD $6)!
cute doggies everywhereeeeeeeee
Had beef noodles at a random shop and it tasted so so so so yummy omg.
ITS THE BEST beef noodles i've ever had in my life.19 years of living.
massage and spa at shilin night market....we tried it the next day and i'll tell you what the hell i went through LOL
Yakult green tea from their koi! Large cup only costs SGD $2 in comparison to $4.50 in Singapore.
If i'm not wrong, any shop in taipei would sell alcohol at the same price as any other shop in taipei cause the cans and bottles actually have its price stated on it. I think this is really really good cause its very unfair how the Singapore's 7-11 would mark up the price of alcohol by almost double of those cheaper shops. Large heineken at only $2.50SGD,bottled hard liquor x mixers at only around $2 SGD!
Taiwan beer at $2 SGD HAHAHAHA
Guess the total cost of this?only like $10 SGD leh wtf. I calculated that it'll cost around $20+ if we got something like that in singapore but really the 2 green bottles of taiwan beer, SUCKED SO BAD.
i never had such bad tasting beer in my life. We could only finish 1 bottle of it,actually i had 3/4 of it cause weichyi really couldnt stand it. The other bottle we gave it to the hotel lol.

Outfit of the night! Actually its the same as my outfit of the night before cause i only brought 1 outfit suitable for clubbing zz.
If you want to go clubbing, the right stop to alight at would be Taipei City Hall which would probably cost around NT35-40 (approx $2.50 SGD). The teens at ximen actually told us to alight at zhong xiao dun hua. ITS FREAKING 2 STOPS AWAY. We walked...all the way to taipei city hall.
It took us like 30+ minutes just to get to the clubbing area ok wtf.
Zhongxiao dunhua only has like 1 club?but the area with most of the clubs is at taipei city hall. Its like singapore's clarke quay.
We asked for directions from everyone we could cause it was past midnight and the streets were so deserted.
BUT I THINK IT WAS ALL WORTH IT LOL.
Like the whole club experience at taipei was so awesome.
We went to this club called "babe night club" i think.what kind of name is that anyway but I CAN SAFELY SAY ITS BETTER THAN ZOUK.
but its damn freaking small, probably the size of mink but the entrance fee was only $10 SGD with alcohol. The music was so damn fucking awesome. Best i've ever heard in clubs even though i've only been clubbing 8times in my life but like all the song transitions were so smooth and the songs were so nice. Even though it was a sunday night, there was still a crowd!
We left after only less than an hr though cause weichyi really hates clubbing lol but really i didnt regret walking all the way there just for that 1 hr.it was all worth it! At least i know taipei really has awesome clubs. Sadly i forgot to take pictures of the club :(
The cab fare from taipei city hall to Jiantan was only around $10SGD leh.DAMN CHEAP WTF.
Its probably the distance from bedok to idk, bishan?it'll probably have cost $20 in singapore please.
