EUROPE TRIP // PARIS [Day 1] - Eiffel Tower

HEY GUYS

I just came back from my Europe trip with Ritche and his parents not too long ago and i finally got rid of the jet lag when i had to go and teach early in the morning yesterday. Unfortunately i learnt it the hard way and slept at 4am, waking up at 7am to go and teach I ALMOST DIED. I swear i wanted to sleep before midnight but was way too hyper to do so! I've been sleeping at 5am and waking up at 5pm (earliest was 3pm) for so many days ever since i came back :(
Just in case you are curious to know, the flight and tour package cost $3700, i spent $700 SGD on buying my own stuff and souvenirs for my parents (and not to forget a whole lot of chocolate), and Ritche's parents spent a lot on food and treated me to everything :/ The pricing of food (and everything) in Europe is RIDICULOUS. I've already done an estimation. With the exception of branded goods, everything else is around 4-8 times more expensive than Singapore. Most of the time i can remember things related to numbers so i'll tell you the price of everything as i go!

Anyway my europe trip posts will be split up into many bits. I can't possibly share 800 photos in 1 post right! I don't think anyone can ever load my blog up if so LOL. This is how it went! >>
 Paris (3 days) --> [crazy long 10hour bus ride] Switzerland (1 day) --> [5hour bus ride] Venice (1 day) --> [4hour bus ride] Florence (1 day) --> [5hour bus ride] Rome (2 days)

First picture of France~ It was already 7am and still no sun. The 13 hour flight was quite ok for me but it's just that after i breathe in too much using my nose on the plane it hurts like hell? I DONT KNOW WHY. Then i try to breathe in using my mouth then my throat hurts like hell? Wtf. You'll probably know what i'm referring to if you've been on the plane for long flights like these.

Reached the hotel from the airport after a cab ride that took 20 minutes and burnt a hole in our pockets cause it cost 60Euros ($100SGD zunzun). NEVER EVER NEVER take a cab in Europe. It wasn't even peak hour?!! Imagine if it was?!!!

Oh and we were on free and easy for 2 days in Paris so we had to book our own hotel for a night and we picked Novotel as it was walking distance from the Eiffel Tower! BUT it cost $400 a night for a crappy hotel like that eh. It's probably like 3 stars. I can just top up $100+ for MBS with infinity pool and shit.

Look at Ritche and you'll know that Paris is damn cold in the morning HAHAHA

It was already approaching winter that's why everyone, both locals and tourists, were wearing long pants and a few layers of long sleeved clothes. I was just wearing a tank top inside this baseball jacket and shorts HAHAHA, At first it was a lil cold in the morning but after that it got kinda warm in the afternoon cause of the sun! It's always like this la no matter which country it is. Taiwan, China, New Zealand was like this too. It would be extremely cold especially because of the breeze!

Anyway honestly i am not afraid of the cold (i feel hot really easily) and i was enjoying the weather A LOT. Same thing happened in taipei what! Everyone stares like i'm crazy oh well. If you get to enjoy the breeze and cold weather for only a few days before going back to an oven like singapore, EMBRACE IT.
I look like a fat bear with a belly here thanks to the whole lot of tissue in my pockets LOL i was afraid i'll get a running nose......

Love how every country has different traffic lights. Still think the one in taiwan is the cutest. If i didn't remember wrongly, instead of a flashing green man to indicate it's turning red, the green man starts running?? HAHA.

Bike rental using the machine! Taiwan has the same thing. Why doesn't Singapore have it???

Went to this old bakery to buy some snacks and hot chocolate. Look at the price of the macaron 4Euros ($6.80 SGD) and the éclair 3.50Euros ($5.95 SGD) wtf. Let me emphasize that it's an OLD bakery without any seats or whatsoever. It's probably the cheapest around the area of our hotel already.

Shortly after this photo was taken and while we were still walking towards the Eiffel, we were approached by teenagers 1 by 1 and they'll go like "SPEAK ENGLISH?" then show you this paper or whatever then ask you to sign for "donations".

Firstly, do not donate. If they come 1 by 1 then it's not a concern just walk off but if they come towards you as a group, LOOK OUT FOR YOUR BELONGINGS. Suddenly this whole group came towards us and i asked Ritche to beware of his belongings alr but he didn't hear me cause they were flooding us with "SPEAK ENGLISH SPEAK ENGLISH?" and this BITCH tried to pickpocket Ritche like FUCK OFF AH. Luckily Ritche was alert and he slapped her hand away from his pocket. If he wasn't alert then can say byebye to his Note2 already.
SIGH day 1 of our Europe trip already like that,give us a break leh. Why she never try to pickpocket me instead? She can take all the tissue i have in my pockets for all i care. I'll even help her with it. That bitch.

Anyway the fog in the morning can get pretty bad. It's not just the camera, all of us couldn't see the top of the Eiffel Tower!

Fog cleared up in like 5 minutes wtf. I turned and suddenly i could see the whole Eiffel Tower already?

Went to sit this boat thing that brings you around Paris to visit museums or churches and other attractions! The ticket which is valid for the whole day cost 15Euros ($25.50SGD) per person.

Went for chinese food cause it's Ritche's mom's fav. The restaurant is called Ye Fa Fa. So cute pls?

You look at the pricing and you think 2.60Euros ($4.42 SGD) for roast duck is fine but they WEIGH the food and you pay 2.60Euros for every 100g OK. I've actually travelled to quite a few countries in my lifetime and i've NEVER heard of such a thing. This isn't even the only shop in Europe that works this way ah.

They don't need a cash register but they need a weighing scale at a restaurant LOL. I felt damn weird standing there. Usually you stand in front of a cash register and they start going like *ti ti ti* on the machine and you'll pay for your food already but this one still need to weigh each dish wtf.

Ordinary meal like this served in plastic containers cost 27Euros ($45.90 SGD) already it's INSANE.

Normally when you go to a chinese restaurant or whatever, you pay between $0.30 to $1.50(MAX) for a bowl of rice. But the rice cost 7Euros ($11.90 SGD). I was damn fucking shocked when i heard it eh. It's the same price as the prawns WTF,

Went to the fruit stall just opposite the restaurant to get some grapes and juice! Why their fruit stalls look so nice and classy in comparison to those in Singapore? Can only think of those along the streets of Geylang selling durians and rambutans etc and shop tenders going "LEHLONG LEHLONG 3 FOR $5" HAHAHA

Everything looks too fresh and yummy,it seems fake. Just look at the pumpkin la it looks like candy or like a plastic container of some sort?

A mall just next to our hotel that looked really good with shops like pandora, zara, h&m and stuff but it was sadly still in construction. TSK.

Iron man in my boots~

Ritche and i decided to go for a lil walk and explore the supermart while his parents were resting in the hotel! Got quite a few snacks and bought ourselves some starbucks. It's damn cute right? 2Euros ($3.40 SGD) each only.
PLEASE NOTE not to get too many things at their marts without a huge ass bag as they do not provide plastic bags! You'll probably have to buy a plastic bag if they sell or struggle to carry your shit home.

Bought cheese cake and chocolate mousse in a jar thingy cause it looked too good to just walk away! Ate it on the 3rd day of Paris instead because we were really too full lol.

Used to really like the Werther's Orginal's caramel candies so i decided to try their apple flavoured ones since i can't find this in Singapore! Come to think of it i wish i got a few boxes of these cause it was yumz but i couldn't find it elsewhere during the trip :( Oh well it was expensive anw. I think around $3+ SGD.

Why would i EVER walk away from Daim sticks? But honestly speaking the one on the right was so much nicer haha. But who would have known the quantity difference would be so big. The daim one at least got 20+ sticks inside but the Praline one only had 12 i was damn sad. Cheat my feelings leh. It wasn't even cheap? Around $4 SGD each ah.

Slept real early that night at like 9pm cause of the jet lag like wtf it would have been 3am in Singapore already! Day 1 wasn't much cause we were super tired and we were just exploring the area around our hotel. Had to wake up early the next day to prepare myself for some wholesale branded goods shopping anyway. More on Paris in the next post!
