HONGKONG [Day 3] - Hongkong Disneyland, Mongkok (again) for Male Apparels Shopping!

HEY YALL
if you havent read on my hong kong trip on day 1, which would include causeway bay, the peak and getting around hongkong, the link is here
And if you want to read on day 2, a major shopping day at cheung sha wan wholesale and mongkok it'll be here!

On day 3 we actually woke up fairly early cause we were intending to spend the entire day at Disneyland!
If you didnt know, their operating hours are usually between 10am to 7pm.
However we did research in advance so we found out that they had a Halloween event and so it was open till 11pm!
Unlike USS, they don't chase everyone out at 7pm due to evening events so we could stay on for the event if we wanted to :)
I have seen the photos and reviews of meals in Disneyland and they just don't look anything near appetizing.
So we decided to buy some breakfast from a bakery near our hotel at Mei Foo MTR!
It's called "Door Door Bakery" i know what you're thinking, what a name hahaha but it's actually known as duo duo (many many) in chinese.
door door and duo duo sounds the same...but the meaning is so far off HAHAHA
Anyways apparently it's been established there since 1975 and i really love everything they sell there!
Worth the try and it's so damn cheap

Ritche bought mooncakes and had no idea they were actually mooncakes LOL
They were only 1 for 6 HKD or 2 for 11 HKD (1 for $1 SGD or 2 for $1.80)
I will NEVER forget how expensive mooncakes were selling for in Singapore last month. Seriously, $15 -30 per piece?
And most of them tasted horrid even if they were made by hotel chefs psh
This was amongst the best mooncakes i've ever tasted in my life.
The freshness, the salted egg yolk and the soft but not-too-sweet paste is something i'll miss for a very long time.

I bought these peanut muachees! Costs the same as the mooncakes but super good as well.
Their peanut filling was so much by the time i was done eating the floor was covered with it HAHA as my mom would always say, my mouth got hole -_-

Mua chees are meant to be chewy, Singapore's is indeed chewy but it gets stuck in your throat like always and so i've given up on eating it in SG.

Forgot how much this actually cost but it was about $3 SGD for the mango pomelo sago
They even have like bottled milk tea and the sugar free version for the same price!

Getting from Meifoo MTR to Disneyland MTR we had to take a train to Lai King Interchange and change to the Orange line first!
The Disneyland train has a super cute train of it's own with like sofa seats, mickey shaped windows and handles and decor ~
It was indeed, super crowded as expected :(

We ordered our tickets online so we could straight away proceed to collect them!
It's actually a lot better cause you wouldnt have to join in the morning queue in the crazy sun with the other tourists (mainly china people)
The tickets were 450 HKD ($74 SGD) per pax which is actually more expensive than USS

We also preplanned our outfit for Disneyland hehehe
Ritche was in his mickey shirt and i was wearing my minnie headband and mickey skirt
There was even an angmor couple who requested to take a photo of us :P
I was actually quite surprised that many didn't dress up for Disneyland leh, many people were even wearing heels wtf
Why would anyone wear heels to a theme park????

Sketches of the different disney characters! They even had a tutorial class for drawing

Proceeded to the super super HUGE souvenir shop and ended up spending over an hour there HAHA

WOODYYYYYYYYY

Ritche being a kid (as always)

We were so tempted to buy mickey mugs for ourselves!! But the minnie one was kinda ugly in my opinion so we didn't buy them lol
I expected it to be a lot more expensive but they were only 100 HKD ($16 SGD) each which is pretty reasonable i think???

MY FAV MONSTER INC hehehehe

TOY STORY MY FAVVVVVV omg i absolutely love both toy story and monster inc (i was never the sort to go crazy over the disney princesses lol)

These look 100% similar to the one in the movie?????? omg

Bought Ritche his Woody hat (we didn't forget to pay before leaving the shop dont worry LOL)
This was kinda expensive though like 200 HKD ($30+ SGD) i think?
But it's so cute?!

Everyone was eagerly waiting for the parade to start! They have 2 parades everyday at 1pm and 4pm
but there were delays and the parade took really long to start so we were waiting in the sun for over 20minutes
And not to forget getting pushed and stepped on wtf
But the parade was AMAZING, they really did manage to make it a magical experience through the whole 20 minutes it lasted
I was really having goosebumps hahaha

"Hum de dum dum dum, bears love honey and i'm Pooh bear, I'm so rumbly in my tumbly" :')

EEYOREEEEE omg he was so in character taking small and slow steps and acting shy hahaha it was so cute???

LION KING!!!!!

Would wear this costume for them free of charge HAHA buzz light year female costume is damn cuteeeeeeee

The toy soldiers were like dancing and jumping up and down from their parachutes!!!

I get hungry really fast so we started off by getting some food.
Let's just say that the trip to Disneyland wasn't exactly pleasant and that is almost entirely caused by the type of visitors they have.
As seen from many reviews, people have been complaining about the number of China people there (90 percent of the visitors are them).
I wouldn't want people to assume that i'm stereotyping so i might as well tell you my encounter and you could judge for yourselves.

Encounter #1: I went to look for seats and i saw this empty table with just nice 2 seats for Ritche and I. He went to buy food first so i had to wait for him.
Next to my table was a table of China people and once i sat down at that table, this lady from her table moved to Ritche's seat thinking that i'll just go find another table because now she's occupying my table and sitting opposite me. So i went on to tell her that the seat is occupied (and wtf you have your own why move to my table????) AND SHE COMPLETELY IGNORED ME. So in my head i already thought like fuck you i was super pissed off so i dragged the chair she was originally sitting on and put it next to me and put my bag on it HAHA but she decided to continue sitting opposite me (these people have serious issues)
I was so pissed off i didn't even have the mood to take photos of the food and all anymore

We went on to play the games they had specially set up for halloween!
There was literally a queue line for these game booths and when you reach your turn you start off with game booth number 1 before proceeding to 2 and 3 so on.
And they obviously barricade the area so you'll start off with booth 1 and not jump queue right?

So this is Encounter #2: This genius of a China kid went under the barricade and ran to booth 2 and the disneyland staff told the kid that she has to queue up.
And the mother went on to scold him and say there's no one queueing at that booth so just let her play (in a fucking rude manner).
then he said that the queue starts from the end and they didn't give a fuck and just went on to jump queue OMG speaking of role models???
what kind of an example is that to set for your kid???

This didn't affect me a lot of course but i can't stand people who treat staffs like that. How do people working there even stand it at all

Anyway we won like all the games HAHA and so we collected over 20 disney stickers hehe
For the bowling one you see below, you are supposed to push the heavy ball on the track and make it derail to win.
And this guy after 3 attempts still didn't get it idk why but i managed to do it at first try hahaha people were like starring cause i hit it damn hard :(
I think i was really meant to be a boy

Disney watches also got such a thing as "limited edition", they only have 500 pieces worldwide for some!!

And here comes my favourite place EVERRRRRR
TOY STORY LAND!
Apparently it's newly opened and it's quite telling from the decor compared to the other areas in Disneyland.
Like some areas were slightly unmaintained and didn't look as appealing compared to other theme parks (eg USS and Warner brothers) honestly speaking

I actually wanted to play the rides in Toy Story land but the queue was 50 minutes or more and to think we came on a weekday -_-

Went on to take photos with the toy soldier!!!!! HAHAHA i couldn't stop laughing at what he was doing with my boyfriend what the heck??
He was like checking out his ear lobe

Wow and within about 2 hours i already got my Encounter #3:
I quickly passed my camera to Ritche and OBVIOUSLY i wanted to take a picture with the toy soldier, then this stupid china lady told her son to run to him and cut my queue. He was even ready to pose for a picture with the toy soldier BUT the toy soldier asked him to go away HAHAHAHAH like literally did the shoo shoo fuck off movement cause it was my turn OMG that made my day!!!!!
I freaking love hongkong people they are so so nice hehe

Taking photos with Jessie from Toy Story had a queue as well and there was a QUEUE LINE K, and here was my Encounter #4:
We were queueing up LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE WOULD, then this fucking china family with their 3 sweaty and disgusting kids kept pushing me and the kid literally went in front of me so whatever i refused to barge for the rest to pass as well. So i held on to the barricade so they couldnt pass. Then they didn't seem to get the idea at all even after i was holding the barricade, they CONTINUED PUSHING.
Then when it was nearing the stupid boy's turn for the photo he kept turning around and shouting at them, asking them to come forward to "help him take his photo" wtf i'm so not interested to let his whole family pass just because he succeeded in jumping my queue
Then he started complaining that there isn't anyone to take his photo, THEN DONT JUMP QUEUE STUPID??? Seriously such a spoilt brat
I ended up letting them pass cause they were too sweaty too gross, they wouldn't stop pushing and hearing them shout to each other was too much for me to take
Would it KILL to wait for 2 minutes extra and wait properly in line? It was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING
And to think his family didn't bother asking him to have basic manners and know what a queue is for?

I wouldn't even dare bring my kids here seriously, these examples they set are totally intolerable

K so by then, Ritche and I have already 80% given up hope on Disneyland and already thinking of how we could have been spending our day if we weren't stuck here.
We stood at the other end of Toy Story Land wanting to take just 1 PHOTO and even when holding the camera there, these china people wouldnt even barge.
They just stand in frame like they're meant to be in the picture i dont freaking want any of you in the photo thanks.
We had to stand there for like 3 minutes at the same spot waiting for people to siam.

BUT THEY WOULDN'T just look at that this woman was in my first photo and this photo as well??

And ya i really need you to stand there and stare at me take a photo with woody. Thanks for joining in the picture.
How about standing next to me instead?

Finally a proper picture after like FIVE minutes

Special decorations just for halloween~

And that is to the most unglam photobomber ever what the hell is that???

Anyways, we went to the 4D mickey show and the queue was about 40 minutes long and needless to say,
people were pushing and squeezing their way through as if it helps at all.
Ritche's 3D glasses were even faulty (seriously unmaintained).
I know that 4D shows can be real exciting especially when the characters look like they're right in your faces,
but the china kids were so worked up and the parents still didn't get them to sit back down so i got punched in the head from behind so many times.
AND THEY WOULDN"T STOP SHOUTING THROUGH THE SHOW like i almost couldn't hear the background music anymore
I thought i had my own personal space for at least a few moments through the show but apparently not.

We were super hungry and we tried looking for food that actually looked presentable or fairly edible lol
It was so hard to find so we ended up having expensive and bad tasting mango pudding. I had no idea what i was eating and i couldn't take a second bite.
This picture was taken in the "restaurant". Here's my small encounter #5 (i just really dont understand what was happening):
It took really long for Ritche to take the photo as well cause there was this lady standing there with her camera, but she wasn't even taking a photo.
Ritche was starring at her cause DUH he had his camera up and she was standing right there and she still wouldn't move.
We really looked annoyed enough but she still came over after a very long time of standing there and asked me to take a photo for her?!
WHY U DO DIS

We wanted to catch the Mickey live show that was supposed to be at 4pm, so we went like 20 minutes in advance and the person wouldn't even let us in.
Apparently you're supposed to start queueing almost an hour before the show if not they'll close the entrance already.
And that's really just a waste of time.

We went ahead with the Lion King show with people pushing and stuff as a norm already
The theatre was so huge and they were seating visitors for 20minutes but people were still running to get a seat..........
Encounter #6:
I wanted to switch seats cause there were really tall people in front of me and i am not exactly very tall
So i moved to a bench behind me which was empty but this China uncle quickly sat right in the mid of the bench and i was seated next to him (yuck)
He knew i was with ritche but he refused to move. SO HE WIN ALREADY LOR. Both of us had to move away.
I thought he was reserving the whole bench for his family or something but guess what?
HE WAS SITTING AT THE BENCH ALONE THROUGH THE WHOLE SHOW smacked in the mid.
Thank you for your basic courtesy it's much appreciated

The singing and all was actually comparable to the Lion King Musical in MBS a few years back!
I guess the parade and this show was the only thing i enjoyed in Disneyland.
But the show had really weird parts whereby after the lead sings the English tune and narrates,
there will be 2 monkeys translating in cantonese but reciting in a SUPER annoying way which really spoils the whole flow lol.
I know that i'm in hongkong and a narration in cantonese is supposed to be normal but if you were there and watching it you'll understand how i feel.

We were both really eager to leave the place so we wouldn't waste our entire day at disneyland (though $160 sgd was already wasted on entrance fee)
We decided to go for the haunted house since it'll be our last visit to disneyland EVER

The usual hour for fireworks was meant to be at 7pm but because of the halloween event it was shifted to 9pm.
I was actually very tempted to stay on but there was nothing else to do and this crowd was killing us.
So we actually decided to leave before that at around 7+pm.

I've actually been to many theme parks before but i would think that Disneyland (at least the one in HK) is one of the worst.
Apart from the parade, their decoration seems rather old, even the one in USS is better, and the costumes worn by the mascots look like they're from 10-30 years back.
And the worst thing would be the visitors there. I really thought i could overlook them but it was impossible.
Even with my heck care attitude i couldnt stand it at all lol.
If you asked me to rate this theme park it'll overall be a negative figure.

Trying to neutralize our bad day, we went back to our favourite place, Mongkok for the night!!
I actually suggested to try the malls recommended by a shop tender.
I was enquiring about male apparels shopping so Ritche could be the one doing some shopping instead of me and me all the time haha.
She gave me a short list of malls that sells male apparels and the best one is called "CHIC e 堡", found on Soy Street in mongkok.
I've never heard of this mall from anyone else before but it's really the only malls we came across that sells solely male items!

Here's a photo a grabbed from google! They sell tees for about 2 for 100 HKD ($16 SGD)

Went to buy some curry fishballs from this shop!!
And i finally know why it's a MUST EAT when in Hongkong omg
The fishball was so so Q and though it's just soaked in the curry, it kinda soaked in all the flavour from the sauce and so it's really tasty!
It's 18 HKD ($3 SGD) for about 10 pieces?

Went ahead for dinner after cause we were so so hungryyyyyy
Saw this cha chan ting across the road and decided to try it!
It's known as Ngan Lung Restaurant, 112 Tung Choi St. Wasn't fantastic but it's okay considering what we ate at Disneyland HAHAHA

News was allllll about the protests everywhere we went

Caught my boyfriend scratching his ass on camera PT 1

Still scratching his ass in public PT 2 HAHAHA
He claims he was reaching for his wallet what a liar

Their beef brisket noodles was not bad!! but the one i ordered, i think was pork noodles was horrible :(
Ritche was so nice to trade with me hahaha :P

"This Handrail is Sterilized Every Hour" HAHAHAHAHA

And this is the second mall that the lady suggested for male apparels shopping!
I really can't read the chinese characters and so i cannot han yu ping ying them for you readers sorry hahaha
They sell mainly figurines, collectible toys, and some clothes and shoes as well.

Went along for Honey Granny "premium soft ice cream" for desserts even though we were so so full

I was rather confused actually when i came back from Hong Kong and suddenly saw this newly opened shop at 313 known as Honey Creme?
Cause it's like 100 percent the same as Honey Granny, selling the same stuff with even the same cup design.
I don't know who is copying who but it's so weird!!
They too similarly have the cotton candy with vanilla ice cream, the honey comb as well!!

I was in the shop and i wanted to order the ice cream with honey comb but i had no idea what i was ordering and ended up with the original instead LOL
Only difference between eating this and the one in Singapore would probably be the price.
This only cost $3 while the one in SG is going at about $5-6. And no i didn't have to queue much :)

Happy boyfriend with his new plugs, cap and buys in that paperbag!

The honeycomb really looks so damn good though :( but since they have an outlet / copy in Singapore now i guess i could try it here!!

We were almost exploding but we just had to try the famous Hui Lau Shan!
This is their address for the Mongkok outlet; 58 Sai Yeung Choi Rd, Mongkok.
I ordered the strawberry one which was a little too thick for me so i couldn't finish all of it
but on the following day we had the mango sago drink and it was AMAZING.
Even though i'm not much of a mango drink fan cause it's usually very overwhelming cause it's too sweet or whatsoever.
But they managed to strike a balance with the pomelo and sago and it was so smooth!
Probably my favourite drink ever. But it wasn't cheap, like 30 HKD ($5 SGD) per cup
My strawberry drink was about the same price as well i think.

If you want to sit in the shop, you'll have to pay an additional amount (so much like italy)

We ended off our day roaming the streets of mongkok with our tasty hui lau shan drinks before taking the MTR back to our hotel.
Will be back with day 4 as soon as i can! Till next time :)
