BANGKOK // DAYS 4 TO 5 [PART II] - Siam Area, Huai Khwang Night Market, MBK (Mahboonkrong)

HEY YALL.
Please read bangkok post part I before reading this part II post for days 4 and 5 as many details are already up on the other post! It is ova hereeee
http://meloided.blogspot.sg/2013/09/bangkok-days-1-to-3-part-i_29.html

Day 4 and we were heading over to the siam area to walk around siam square etc. Basically just exploring all the malls around there (but somehow missing out MBK wtf) You wouldn't have to wake up too early for this as they only start opening at 10am till 9pm i think and if you just loiter around there, you'll regret it i swear.
On Day 5 we went back to siam as well it was DAMN HOT and we were an hour early. Took damn long to find the entrance to macs cause they didn't allow us to use the main entrance wtf. Can't understand that at all. If you have a shop open in that bloody mall before the mall opens why can't you just let people in? Annoying.

OOTD for Day 4 and i really love the bralet i was wearing from newlook but shitty digital camera can't capture the details oh well. The playsuit will be launched real soon but not in the next one (i am sorz too many things to launch along with male apparels)! I really really like the details of this one the pocket is too cute. It's like the captain uniform thingy i don't know how to explain it la if you get what i mean then you get it la D: Plz refer to picture on the right and spot the similarity if you don't get me.

All outfits would have looked so much better with matching shoes but it'll get dirty within minutes so nope i wasn't willing to risk it. But do note some restaurants are more atas ok they actually have dress code. If you wear slippers you can't enter HAHA.

Extremely blue matching outfits hehe

They always have pomegranate juice at street shops and i think both Ritche and i are addicted to it. At first we bought 3 bottles back to the hotel to keep in the fridge then that increased to buying 6 back to the hotel ok LOL. But it's really super shiok especially when it's super cold against the super hot weather I'M MISSING IT.
But it's not very cheap in my opinion, it's around 40 baht for 1 ($1.60 SGD) and some who want to cheat your money would tell you 50 baht wtf. But if you're crazy like us then you could buy 6 and ask for a wholesale price HAHAHA. We got 6 bottles for 200 baht (save 40 baht) so kinda like buy 5 get 1 free. Everything in bangkok can be bargained no kidding!

We actually walked over to Siam and it took around 20 minutes for us to get there. It's actually very direct, i doubt it's possible to get lost (or maybe it's because ritche has good sense of direction and mine isn't THAT poor,i think?). I'll just give the aga aga directions to those who are going to bangkok any time soon! But if you get lost don't blame me ah haha i'll be as accurate as possible without a map LOL.

DIRECTIONS FROM PLATINUM TO SIAM:
1. When you're facing the entrance of platinum, turn left and walk down the long path.
(you'll pass by auntie anne's and cold stone)
2. When you reach the end of that long path turn right. You'll be walking by a river on your right and it's kinda like an express way on your left.
3. Walking further down that path you'll see Central World (HUGE ASS MALL MAN) on your right and you'll also see many street shops selling clothes, caps, food along the way.
4. When you reach that end of the path you'll see an overhead bridge go upppp.
5. Walk towards the end on your right. It's a super super long way till you reach the end of that bridge. (You'll see Siam Paragon on your right from a distance)
6. Walk walk walk walk.
7. Go down that bridge and you'll see Siam Center on your right and Siam Square on your left.
8. Go shop all your money awayyyyy.

Passed by this IT mall and they were selling really pretty and customized passport covers so we decided to do it. Had to wait for like 20minutes so we walked around that boring mall first. Had very fail tako balls too :(

Isn't it cute? Only cost 100 baht each with the charm ($4 SGD). They also have other shit like temporary tattoos, hair and hand accessories, keychains and i think it'll make rather good gifts.

In the late afternoon after we were done with siam we wanted to take a cab back to the hotel and that, was the WORST MISTAKE EVER. The jam was so bad, it took more than 30 minutes for us to reach somewhere near the hotel, and decide to just alight in the middle of nowhere cause walking is WAYYYY faster. We were both so frustrated lol. The cab driver couldn't understand english and i had to like point to the door and say like "go out go out" before he understood LOL.

ADVICE
One thing about taking cabs is that they don't bother to take the shortest routes to get you to your destination. As for Tuktuk, they quote you a fixed price and they'll get you there asap so it'll save their time. So really, even though tuktuks are more expensive than cabs, it'll get you there faster so don't waste your time to save money.

Went back to Platinum Mall for another round of shopping first before heading back to the hotel cause we still haven't covered the whole mall by then!

At 6pm we decided to take a Tuktuk to Huai Khwang and it cost us 200 baht ($8 SGD) and i guess it's reasonable cause it's quite far away. Reached there at around 6.30pm and who would have known it wasn't even opened yet wtf. There was nothing to shop, nothing much to eat and so we had to walk to the nearest train station to go elsewhere for dinner. -__- <<<< need to re-emphasize on the importance of researching before a trip OMG

Thankfully, they had a directory at the train station and we decided to go to "Phra Ram 9" station and go to one of the 3 malls they had around the station. If i'm not wrong it was called Central Plaza?

WE SAW MARIO MAURER in the midst of looking for food hahaha.
Decided to stand there and snap some pictures of him along with other crazy fans like why not right.

When he was getting off the stage all the fan girls were RUNNING and SCREAMING it was scary shit man really.

FoodRepublic and even Kopitiam in that mall LOL.
they had many other restaurants there as well.so many choices we were super confused about which to choose. I just kept saying "YOU DECIDE AH" and Ritche was saying the exact same thing back at me.

My cutie :)

LOOKS GOOD RIGHT? but it was crap i was super disappointed lol.could have had nice food at the other restaurants but we just had to choose this ah well. :(

I forgot to snap pictures of the Huai Khwang Night Market i'm sorry. It isn't a very fancy place and it's just 2 long stretches of street shops /retail,separated by a road with heavy traffic. But one thing's for sure, they have many many more shops selling shoes /heels in comparison to the Platinum area. Some of them are actually quite unique especially if you go to the right shops.
The one that i got my night walkers from (picture far below) had a few hundred designs in 1 small space and i felt like i was in heaven. WISH THAT WAS MY SHOE CABINET. Their shoes are a lot more costly but they're very unique pieces as well so it's worth it in my opinion. If you got them from sg it'll cost at least 2 times more. No kidding.

The first 4 days was super stressful for me because i was rushing to buy stocks for StyleHacks. But after day 4, my luggage was already filled to the brim so i had no choice but to buy lesser things on day 5 (and i was already broke by then anyway HAHA).

Day 5 while walking back to Siam so we could visit MBK before checking out at the hotel!
I just went on to point at what another person ordered cause their menu was all in thai so whatever LOL.

Tuktuk in XXL version HAHAHA

SEE that Ritche looking for WiFi again HAHAHAHA caught in action

Had quite a bit of spare time before MBK opened so we were having breakfast at their macs. He was snapping photos of me so i had to cover myself with my bag :(

Went back to the IT mall to get 4 more passport covers for our parents. AND PLEASE GUYS,if you get customized things, CHECK before walking away from the shop HAHAHA.
Ritche got one for his dad "Robert" and it ended up as "Robet" LOL but we didn't have any time to go back and change sadly, so his dad is left with a Robet passport cover. Ritche keeps saying it's the pronunciation of "Robert" in Thai HAHAHAHA SMLJ.

Went back to Platinum AGAIN even on the last day for some last minute shopping and had our last thai dinner there! When you eat at their food court on the 5th floor, you must get this card in order to buy food. Something like marche but you have to pay for credits in the card beforehand.

Couldn't stop laughing at their direct translations HAHA look at the last one

Mango with sticky rice

"Red Pork with Rice"????

Oh ya and they told me no photography in their food court and i really REALLY cannot understand why. Other food courts say no pets, no outside food, no smoking but theirs "no photography"? What's wrong with taking pictures of their food?! They thought museum ah.
But whatever i went on snapping pics anyway HAHA

Last pomegranate juice EVERRRRR :'( and that's some weird ass juice that we tried for the first time (i'm guessing orange with calamansi??wtf)

Me smiling creepily at Ronald McDonald HAHAH

Loving my matching outfit that day!

We decided that the night walker heels (the one i got from huai khwang night market) are too heavy and bulky so i should wear it while walking to the mrt from the hotel. I was regretting it moments later when i was struggling to pull the luggage and almost losing my balance while doing so.

And because the sole of this pair of shoes are so narrow, if you step on uneven ground, you'll probably have a great fall AND WTF uneven flooring is everywhere in the streets of bangkok ok i'm not kidding i felt like i was going to fall to my death in those 19cm heels T___T Many locals were staring and probably thinking "must attend her funeral when she falls later".
Scary experience indeed.

Baggage all heavier than it looks ok

Look at the height difference between the night walkers and the wedges wtf

Decided to unpack yesterday and choose which should be added in the next launch so i thought of taking a full pic of all the things that i got like why not right? IT TOOK ME 1 AND A HALF HRS TO UNPACK AND ARRANGE IT LIKE THIS OK.it wouldn't fit if i put every piece i bought on the floor so i had to stack the duplicates lol.
And i realized that 156 is an inaccurate figure cause i already put quite a few pieces for washing haha. It's around 160+ pieces, around 140 apparels, 4 pairs of shoes, 2 bags etc
A few people have commented on my twitter, insta and fb to ask how much i spent and on clothes alone it would be 1k+++ and the air ticket was $219 per person, the hotel was $300 for 2 pax, 4 nights.

Loving this picture haha.
I'm quite sure many of my friends would start to kp and say i never buy things for them but really all these clothes are mainly for the shop and i really had no space left to bring souvenirs back so i am sorry in advance. Didn't have money left anyway LOL.

I LOVE BANGKOK and I LOVE MY BOYFRIEND EVEN MORE hehe. Without him i wouldn't be able to go to bangkok in the first place. Without him, i wouldn't have the courage to set up StyleHacks. He was there to give me his opinion for every single piece of apparel you see in this picture. He woke up early in the morning with me to go crazy shopping, and only have occasional 5minute rests in the hotel room when i have to unload my full bag of loots. He was also there to carry my huge ass 19kg luggage with an 8kg carrier bag, all filled with my things. And also helping me with my own bulky 8kg carrier bag when i was struggling. He's really just the best thing that has ever happened to me and i am indeed, the luckiest girl on earth. :')

Anyway, StyleHacks will be having their photoshoot tomorrow and i brought in some male apparels this time round. Will post sneak peeks of the new male model and apparels on @stylehacks ' instagram next week! Female items should be up this weekend but male apparels will be launched the following weekend.
I'm planning on posting up some good flash deals on my shop's instagram @stylehacks and on it's facebook page so don't forget to like it before you miss it and regret it ~

Till next time!

    3. Hey!! There's practically nothing to shop when you're at palladium so i wouldnt really recommend going there. But sometimes during the night palladium might have a market selling many customized things that are hard to find elsewhere so you might want to see your luck. Indra square has a black canyon and the food is quite good! It's on the first floor of indra. (there's nothing much to see at indra square though!) hope this helps :) have a pleasant trip!
